Great Rift Fun Ride & Campout! 2026
  • Great Rift Fun Ride & Campout!

COME BE A PART OF THE IDAHO BIKEPACKING COMMUNITY!
  • There are many ways you can participate in the Rally on the Rift. This is a great way to experience the magic and lure of the Great Rift and Kings Bowl. Car camp, day ride, grill out, gaze up at the dark sky, and explore around a really cool region of Idaho.

The Post-Ride Gathering, Fun Ride & Campout was added in 2025 to share this special region with more folks than just those who want to ride their bike for 5 days in it!

If that sounds like you, you're invited to join us the weekend of June 13-14 to welcome in riders, hang out with good people, share in the vibes, sleep under the stars, and, of course, ride bikes! What's more to like?

    DATES
    SATURDAY, JUNE 13 - SUNDAY, JUNE 14, 2026

    SCHEDULE

    Saturday Afternoon

Welcome in the riders after they have spent 5 days bikepacking the wild landscape of the Great Rift and Craters of the Moon! Then hang out and listen to the stories from the trail with good food and cold beverages. Camping is optional, but it's a long trip home for most, so feel free to stay and pitch a tent with us!

    Sunday

    • Chill group ride
    • Explore the area
    • Check out Kings Bowl
    • Head home at your leisure

    LOCATION
    Kings Bowl Trailhead
    Coordinates: N 42° 56.990', W 113° 12.611'

You may park at the Ice Caves Road and ride to Kings Bowl, OR drive down the road to have your vehicle at Kings Bowl (limited parking).

About Kings Bowl: an otherworldly and interesting zone with some fascinating geological volcanic formations. The feature itself is one of the most prominent cracks in the 52-mile long Great Rift! There are lots of options, roads and places to explore by bike out here.

Getting to Kings Bowl requires driving 5.5 miles of 4x4 Jeep road. If you choose to drive instead of ride this road, plan for a slow-going crawl. Biking is almost faster and more fun.

    SUNDAY GROUP RIDE
A chill roll from Kings Bowl around 9 or 10 AM. Very little elevation gain, but 100% unpaved and rough terrain. Review the route here.

    • Bring your own food, camp setup, and drinks
