TERMS OF SERVICE – WAIVER OF PARTICIPATION
Quick Overview
You understand that martial arts and contact sports involve a risk of bodily harm or worse.
You agree not to hold the organiser accountable for any costs, claims, or liabilities related to injury or accidents that may occur during the event you register for.
You accept that the organiser may use your personal data to contact you about business offers and future events.
By accepting this waiver, you agree to the listed items and confirm that you have read and understood them.
Risk of Bodily Harm
I hereby assume full responsibility and liability for all damages, injuries, and losses that I may sustain or incur while participating in or watching the Tournament/Event.
I acknowledge that serious injury is common in combat sports events such as the one I am entering and that death is a possibility. I understand that if I am injured, I may be disfigured, disabled, and/or rendered unable to work again. By entering this competition, I agree to fully accept and assume liability for any and all injuries that I may incur and expressly give up and waive any and all claims that I, or anyone acting on my behalf, may have against the organiser, its board members, promoters, operators, sponsors, officials, participants, non-participants, or volunteers for any injury, regardless of its nature or effect, arising from my participation in or presence at the Tournament/Event.
I authorise and agree to hold harmless any medical personnel present at the Tournament/Event to take whatever action is deemed necessary should I become injured.
I represent that I am in good health, that I am not presently, nor will I participate while under the influence of any drug or medication, that no one affiliated with this Tournament/Event has encouraged me to enter or made any representations regarding my fitness or ability to participate, that I have read and understood every provision of this release, and that I am legally competent and freely enter into this waiver, release, and assumption of risk agreement.
Privacy and Personal Data
I understand that by using my MBI membership number to register for this event, I am giving the organiser the right to contact me via newsletters, event reminders, and general promotion of offers or information.
I further understand that tickets may be sold to spectators, that media coverage may occur, and that the Tournament/Event may be livestreamed or otherwise broadcast to audiences worldwide. I hereby expressly and irrevocably consent to my likeness being shown, publicised, commented on, and/or reported on, and I waive any right to compensation that I might otherwise be entitled to as a result.
Disputes
The organiser expressly reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion and with or without cause, to deny any athlete or competitor registration or application to compete. The terms athlete and competitor may be used interchangeably.
If any dispute arises out of or is related in any way to participation in this event, by submitting a registration application you expressly waive your right to file a lawsuit in any city, state, or federal court and waive the right to a trial by jury. The term “dispute” includes, but is not limited to, claims for injury, whether alleged to have occurred or not, during the Tournament/Event.
