The Pennsylvania Gifted Equity Initiative (PGEI) invites you to apply for our Summer Institute, a residential professional development experience designed to deepen your understanding of equitable gifted identification and programming for underrepresented student populations.
What You'll Learn:
- Evidence-based strategies for identifying gifted students from culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse backgrounds.
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL) applications in gifted education.
- Characteristics of gifted students who may not fit traditional profiles.
- Support strategies for twice-exceptional (2E) learners.
- Building sustainable, equitable systems in your district.
Event Details:
Dates: August 4-6, 2026 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Location: Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center, State College, PA
Cost: $50 registration fee (includes single room overnight accommodations, breakfast, lunch, and snacks; dinner on your own Wednesday evening)
Audience: PA educators working with or supporting gifted students
