    Summer 2026 / Fall 2026
  • Generator's Artist-in-Residence program supports creative exploration with access to resources, space, and opportunities to engage and inspire others. This residency provides a designated studio, tool training credit, and access to Generator's 12,000+ square foot co-working/fabrication space in the heart of Burlington, Vermont's South End Arts District.

    *Eligible applicants must be Vermont residents, 18+ years. 

    *Housing is not provided. 

    Application Deadline: Sunday, April 5th @ 11:59 PM
    (For Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 Residencies) 


    Provided by Generator:

    • 3 months access to a 7'x8' studio, valued at $280/month.
    • 6 months free membership, valued at $105/month.
      • Membership begins one month before studio occupancy and ends 2 months after studio occupancy concludes
    • $500 Tool Training credit
    • 24/7 access to Generator's facilities

    Expectations of Artists-in-Residence:

    • Host an Artist Showcase in coordination with Generator staff
    • Engage with our Generator community and work onsite
    • Allow Generator to photograph their work (to be used in marketing materials, social media posts, development/fundraising initiatives, etc.)

    Application and Selection Process:

    • Applications accepted Sunday March 1, 2026 through Sunday April 5, 2026
    • Proposals are evaluated for their:
      • Community engagement
      • Utilization of Generator resources
      • Articulation of a creative process with specific goals
      • Ability to show previous experience that illustrates capability of accomplishing project proposal
    • Accepted applicants will receive notification of selection by email.
    • Selected applicants will have 5 days to accept the offer.

  • Generator accepts a range of large, unique, and experimental art forms; however, storage is available only within the studio space shown below.

    Images of relevant past work should speak to your proposal.
