    Fall Series Shows: Please complete the registration form and waiver below. Fill out one form for each horse & rider combination. Choose your Division and the Events you will be competing in. DIVISIONS FOR ALL AGES! Online entries close the Friday before each Gymkhana at 5pm, no refunds will be issued after this time. Registration will re-open after each Gymkhana has been completed.   • Our Fall Series Gymkhana will take place over three (3) event days; September 20th, October 25th and November 29th. To be eligible for the Fall Series Championship Awards and Prizes, competitors must enter into at least two (2) of the three (3) Gymkhana event days. Points will be tallied in four (4) events; Barrel Racing, Thread the Needle, Pole Bending, and Stakes, to determine the leaderboard.

    The October 25th Gymkhana will be a Halloween theme event with a costume category.

    The November 29th Gymkhana will be our Series and Year-End Finale!

  • IMPORTANT: All CDAS Grounds & Riding policies apply to this event.

    For a full set of rules and policies go to the Cochrane & District Ag Society Website.

    1. Entry deadline – Friday before the Gymkhana at 5:00 PM.

    2. Online payment through STRIPE is our preferred payment method. If it is necessary to pay via E-transfer, contact the organizer and please send payment to cochraneagsociety@gmail.com. Be sure to provide the correct password to the same email and the name of the rider in the notes.

    3. CANCELLATION OF ENTRIES: Exhibitors who cancel entries after receipt by the show office shall forfeit their entries, except where a certificate of disability of their horse from a qualified veterinarian is presented to the show office prior to the start of classes or a doctor’s notification of the rider’s illness/injury.

    4. CDAS reserves the right to refuse any entry. CDAS reserves the right to remove any person from the grounds whose behavior or actions are seen to be inappropriate or unsafe.

    5. CDAS recommends you do not bring dogs into the arena building, however if you do, they must be on a leash or you will be asked to remove your dog.

    6. SMOKING: No smoking in any building.

    7. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR: While mounted at CDAS, all competitors 16 and under must wear helmets.

    8. All entrants (& entrant's guardian if competitor is under 18 yrs. of age) must sign a CDAS waiver prior to mounting a horse on show grounds. Waiver must accompany the entry form.

    9. No lunging allowed inside the arena.

    10. No feeding of horses inside the arena.

    11. Dogs must be on leash at all times.

    Estimated 10:00 a.m. start time. Arena opens at 9:00 a.m. for warm up only.

    - Ribbons from 1st to 6th place in each event and division.

    - Ribbons and Prizes given to High Point and Ribbons to Reserve High Point for each age division. Tie breaker will be the overall fastest time of all timed events added together.

    - Series Prizes to be tallied and awarded at the final show of the Fall Series November 29th.

    - Event Schedule will be posted along with the show draw.

    - Weather call will be made by 7:00 pm on Thursday in advance of the show.

  • COCHRANE & DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY RELEASE, WAIVER OF CLAIM & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

  • EVERY PARTICIPANT AT THE COCHRANE & DISTRICT AGRICULATURAL SOCIETY MUST CAREFULLY READ THIS NOTICE BEFORE SIGNING. NO PARTICIPANT WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTCIPATE PRIOR TO SIGNING THIS FORM.

    “Inherent risks of equine activities” shall mean those dangers or conditions, which are an integral part of equine activities, including but not limited to:

    a. The propensity of any equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to persons on or around them and/or damage to property in their vicinity.

    b. The unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movements, and unfamiliar objects, persons or other animals.

    c. The equine’s response to certain hazards such as surface and subsurface objects.

    d. The potential of collisions with other equines, animals, people and objects.

    e. The potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or to act within his or her ability.

    “Releasee and/or Releasees” shall mean the Cochrane and District Agricultural Society (CDAS), its user groups and affiliates, activity Organizing Committee(s), officials, volunteers, staff, and agents. I release the Releasees from liability and waive as against the Releasees all recourses, loss or damages, including any consequential damage or loss, claims, causes of action of any kind whatsoever arising from my participation in the activity. I voluntarily accept the legal risk, thereby expressly giving up any right of action and the physical risk arising from all liability whether such liability arises in contract, by reason of NEGLIGENCE or by reason of breach of duty raised by statute, or in any other manner whatsoever.

    I further acknowledge and agree that:

    a. The activity is dangerous, exposing participants to risks and hazards, some of which are inherent in the very nature of the reaction itself, others which result from NEGLIGENCE or FAULT on the part of the person involved in preparing and organizing or staging the activity.

    b. As a result of the aforesaid risks and hazards, I as a participant may suffer injury, even death, as well as property loss.

    c. Some of the aforesaid risks and hazards are foreseeable, but others are not;

    d. I nevertheless freely and voluntarily assume all of the aforesaid risks and hazards and that accordingly, my use of the facilities while participating in the activity.

    e. I understand the Releasees assume no responsibility or liability for my safety while I am participating in an activity.

    f. That I have carefully read the COMPLETE RELEASE, WAIVER OF CLAIM AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK, that I fully understand same and that I am freely and voluntarily executing same.

    g. I understand that by signing this RELEASE, I be will forever precluded from suing or otherwise claiming against any of the Releasees for any loss or damage connected with any property loss, personal loss, personal injury, or death I may sustain while participating in the activity.

    h. I understand the Releasees do not permit me to use the facilities now or in the future unless I sign the COMPLETE RELEASE, WAIVER OF CLAIM AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK and that this COMPLETE RELEASE, WAIVER OF RISK AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK applies to the activity whether occurring in the near or distant future and the terms of this agreement need not be brought to my attention each time I am a participant in the activity in order to be effective.

    i. This COMPLETE RELEASE, WAIVER OF CLAIM AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK is binding on me, my heirs, my executors, administrators, personal representatives and assigns:

    j. If I or any member of my family should incur an accident while on CDAS grounds I will complete an Incident Report (provided by CDAS) and submit to CDAS office.

     

    This COMPLETE RELEASE, WAIVER OF CLAIM AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK shall remain in effect for the duration of membership and/or any time spend on the grounds and until all animals and property of the signee have been removed from the CDAS grounds. By signing this document, you agree to abide by all rules of the Cochrane and District Agricultural Society.

  • Fall Series Info

    Our Fall Series Gymkhana will take place over three (3) event days; September 20th, October 25th and November 29th. To be eligible for the Fall Series Championship Awards and Prizes, competitors must purchase or have purchased a series entry in 2026 already, and enter into at least two (2) of the three (3) Gymkhana event days. Points will be tallied in four (4) events; Barrel Racing, Thread the Needle, Pole Bending, and Stakes, to determine the leaderboard.

    Each of our seasonal Gymkhana Series' (Spring, Summer, Fall) will include series prizes for high-point earners. There will also be a final Year-End High Point prize awarded that tallies points from each of the 3 seasonal gymkhana series'.

    Series entry only needs to be purchased once. Riders who previously purchased a Spring or Summer Series entry are already entered into the Fall Series and Year-End High Point awards. They do not need to purchase series entry again.

    Riders who have yet to purchase a series entry, have until September 20th to purchase one in order to have their Spring & Summer Series points added to the Year-End High Point Tally. Any series entry purchased after September 20th will only include point totals from the Fall Series in the Year-End High Point tallies.

    To participate in the 3 fall gymkhanas, the rider must register for all 3 events separately or using the package deal below.

     

    Year-End High Point Info

    Year-end high points tallies will be determined by combining all the scores from the Spring Series, Summer Series and Fall Series for each rider.

    Any rider who has purchased a series entry is entered into the Year-End High Point awards.

    For series points to be eligible, riders must purchase any series entry, before the start of the next series. For example, a rider who purchased entry into the Spring Series back in March, is automatically entered into Spring, Summer and Fall series' point tallies as well as the year-end High Point. A rider who purchases a series entry after the Summer Series begins, is also entered automatically into the Fall series, but will only have their Summer and Fall points count towards Year-End, none they had earned inthe Spring.
