Per the City of Nashua, once accepted, all food vendors must submit an application and application fee to the Department of Environmental Health unless listed as exempt. Exemptions and additional information can be found below.
CITY OF NASHUA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH:
- Food Vendor Types & Licensure:
- Vendors that will be exempt from a health license are as follows:
- Whole, uncut fresh fruits and vegetables
- If any cutting occurs or samples are planned to be offered this will require an application and license.
- Fresh herbs, sprigs, etc. which are only cut for harvesting
- Grains, seeds, beans, and nuts which are whole, unsprouted, and unprocessed
- Shell eggs
- As outlined in RSA 428:22-30 but must adhere to proper labeling by the Dept. of Ag and proper cold holding requirements.
- Maple syrup and 100% pure maple products
- As outlined in RSA 429:13-28
- Products with maple as an ingredient and not 100% maple require licensure
- Honey products
- As outlined in RSA 429:13-28
- There are also certain foods that are not allowed to be sold in Nashua. These include:
- Home butchered meat, poultry, or wild game
- No home prepared foods are allowed
- We make small exceptions for non-hazardous baked goods from a NH licensed homestead or individuals working from a properly licensed commissary kitchen. These will be determined on a case by case basis for a Farmer’s market only, but never for a non-farmers market event.
- All other food and/or food trucks will require an application, fee, and license from Nashua Department of Environmental Health.
