I understand that participation is limited to 20 spellers per division, and registration does not guarantee acceptance.
I understand that I will receive email confirmation if my child is accepted into the Freedom Spelling Bee and must respond with acceptance of participation.
I understand that full event details, rules, and student expectations will be sent via email prior to the event, and that the Freedom Spelling Bee is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026.
I understand that in each division there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. Winners will receive cash prizes and a trophy and will be recognized during the program at the Champaign Urbana Black Authors Book Fair on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
I understand that all spellers are expected to wear professional or business-appropriate attire during the spelling bee.
I understand that participants and families are expected to demonstrate respectful behavior, good sportsmanship, and positive conduct toward fellow spellers, judges, and event staff.
I understand that judges’ decisions are final.
