Volunteer to Restore Native Habitat at Hood River Bluffs
  • Volunteer to Restore Native Habitat at Hood River Bluffs

Saturday, April 11, 2026 in Hood River
  • Join Columbia Land Trust for a morning of learning and land stewardship at Hood River Bluffs Natural Area along Indian Creek Trail in Hood River.

To kick off the morning, we’ll share our plans for habitat restoration and wildfire risk reduction, outlining any temporary impacts to trail access, and answering your questions. Then, we’ll roll up our sleeves to plant bare root native shrubs, lay down mulch, and remove invasive blackberry. Together, we'll transform this area into a beautiful and more wildfire-resilient space for nature and neighbors!

When: Saturday, April 11, 2026. Informational community meeting at 9am; Volunteer work event from 9:30am- 12:30pm. Please note that you are welcome to join for either the information session, volunteer event, or both.

Where: The corner of 2nd St and Betty Lou Ave in Hood River (Here on Google Maps)

We will provide protective leather gloves and work tools, but local neighbors are encouraged to bring their own wheelbarrows, loppers, and shovels to supplement our supply. There will be a port-a-potty and water jug available on site for volunteers.

Items to wear or pack: Sturdy work boots, protective layers for weather and thorny plant material, a hat, sunscreen, and your own water bottle and snacks.
