• Mindfulness for Health: Bursary Request

  • About our bursary places

  • A limited number of bursary places are reserved for individuals with significant barriers, who wouldn't otherwise be able to join one of our courses. We offer them because we believe the benefits of mindfulness should be available to everyone, whatever their circumstances. If that sounds like you, we're glad you're here.

  • Breathworks is a registered charity (Charity number 1131851), and our bursary scheme is funded entirely by the gifts and donations of our supporters. This helps bridge the gap between what you're able to pay and the full cost of the course. We ask everyone to contribute what they can afford towards their place, with £30 as the minimum contribution. As one of our wonderful bursary-recipients put it, "It's brilliant to be able to pay what you can, and marvellous to be helped with the rest."

  • We only have a small number of bursary places on each course, so if you're able to pay the standard or concessionary rate, we'd ask you to choose that first. That way, we can make sure our bursary places go to those who have no other way in.

  • What to expect

  • The bursary application process usually takes up to two weeks. Occasionally it takes a little longer, if we need to come back to you for more information, and we'll always let you know if that's the case.

  • Before you start this application, it's worth pausing to think about whether now is the right time for you. Each week, the course involves:

    • A live online session of around 2 hours
    • Daily meditations of 10 to 20 minutes, plus 'mindfulness in daily life' exercises
    • Optional learning materials to watch, listen to and read in your own time

It can help to think about whether this feels manageable alongside everything else in your life at the moment. There's no rush: you can always come back to this when the time feels right. If this feels doable, please continue below.

  • Sharing what a bursary place means to you

  • Bursary places are made possible by people who give to Breathworks, and by bursary recipients sharing their stories to support our fundraising. If you receive a place, we may get in touch after the course to ask how it went, and whether you'd be happy to share a little about your experience.

  • We know it isn't always easy to ask for help. If you've made it this far, thank you for trusting us with your circumstances. Please take your time with the questions on the following pages.
