  • 2026 Technical Scholarship Application

  • The Chamber is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Robert Bosch, LLC, we will award two $500 scholarships to two 2026 graduating seniors from Dorchester County who will attend an accredited 2 year technical college in South Carolina.

The Chamber's Education and Workforce Division focuses on several areas when deciding on recipients of the scholarships. These areas are:

Expression and Presentation: We will review the student's ability to clearly describe the significance of the scholarship related to their life goals. This should also include employment, outside hobbies, interests, and activities. Any additional details regarding obstacles or hardships that the student has overcome may be included.

Academics: We will select a student with at least a 2.5 GPA on the SC Uniform grading policy scale. The GPA will be used in determining eligibility.

Need: We will select a student who clearly identifies their need (e.g. family income, other family members in college at the same time, or lack of opportunities to receive financial assistance from other sources). This shows the committee that this scholarship is not just a financial necessity but critical for success.

Verification: The student's School Counselor must confirm the applicant's GPA is at  least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and the student is eligible for admission to a two year institution.

School /Community/Civic Involvement: Sports, band, clubs, volunteer activities through church, or other community organizations. Is the student helping others?

Work experience: Summer or part-time jobs, with hours worked and type of work, should be a part of the application.

College Ability: School Counselor must confirm applicant's SAT and or ACT scores, as well as grade point average, are acceptable for admission to a state technical college.

Funds: The student awarded the scholarship is required to contact the Chamber with applicable college information (name, address, etc). The Chamber will mail a check directly to the technical college.
