Hosted by The Upper New, Friday Afternoon in the Universe is an open discourse multigenerational intentional learning salon supporting an ecological community of practice within the Upper New River bioregion.

The Alleghany County Public Library is partnered as our brick and mortar host for these discussion events.

We'd like to know your level of interest for participation in Friday events.
Everyone who has interest in the Friday discussion events will be involved in the Friday listserv, as this will be the primary channel of communication about Friday topics and logistics.

Some folks will live in close enough proximity to the Alleghany County Library (in Sparta, NC) that it will be feasible for them to attend Friday events in-person.

We're also looking for volunteers and community networkers!

Friday Afternoon in the Universe is intended to be an expanding network of topical discussion groups within and across bioregions everywhere in the biosphere.

As we grow the network, we are looking to create "franchised" Friday discussions in various locations throughout the Upper New River bioregion, the rest of Turtle Island (North America), and beyond.

We will provide interested groups with a "Friday guidebook" that covers all basic logistics for how to get up and running (like partnering with a public library, etc.).

These "satellite" Friday sessions will align with the topics chosen each month, allowing all discussion groups to contribute to a growing global conversation.
