This 90-minute virtual presentation with Q & A will provide the basis for an engaging discussion about loving relationships.
Featuring Guest Speaker Christopher Schouten, Member in Discernment in the United Church of Christ (UCC) and a nationally recognized voice on Ethical Non- Monogamy (ENM within the UCC). Drawing on lived experience, theological study, and extensive engagement with church ethics and polity, he brings a grounded, pastoral, and institutionally informed perspective to conversations about non-monogamous relationships. Christopher has served as a guest webinar and conference presenter for the national Open & Affirming Coalition of the UCC and has drafted national-level policy guidance addressing ENM relationships in the authorization and adjudication of clergy. His work focuses on helping churches move beyond secrecy and stigma toward integrity, transparency, and grace-filled discernment that honors the diversity of faithful relationships in today’s church.
This event is brought to you by the Love & Faith Alliance (LAFA), the LGBTQIA+ outreach of Christ Church of Summit, NJ. LAFA is a group of self-identified LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies gathered together to foster community, provide a safe space for discussion, and for outreach.
