  • Leadership Nebraska offers a transformative experience for individuals seeking to enhance their leadership capabilities and make meaningful contributions to their communities. By participating in this prestigious program, applicants gain unparalleled access to top-level executives from various sectors across the state, fostering invaluable networking opportunities and mentorship. The program also provides exclusive tours inaccessible to the general public. Participants acquire essential skills and knowledge to drive positive change within their communities, empowering them to lead with vision, integrity, and impact.

  • INSTRUCTIONS:

    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WILL PREVENT THE APPLICATION FROM BEING CONSIDERED.

    • Complete each section in full.
    • You will be asked to upload a resume, recommendation letter and headshot.
    • Only one completed recommendation form will be accepted. This may not come from your employer.
    • Tuition (includes lodging, meals, bus transportation, access to top level speakers, exclusive behind the scenes tours throughout the state, etc.)
      • Tuition - $6,250
      • No applications will be accepted after May 1, 2026
  • Selection Criteria

    • Applications are accepted from individuals living or working within the State of Nebraska.
    • Class members are chosen by the Selection Committee on their own merits based upon the information provided on their application. The committee seeks representation from a cross section of the state including business, labor, government, education, the arts, community based organizations, human services and ethnic and minority groups.
    • Applicants representing a corporation or organization must have the full support of their employer or sponsoring organization. Individuals not associated with a business or organization are also eligible to apply.

      Applicants must be able to fulfill program attendance requirements.
      Participants are expected to attend each session from August, 2026 through February, 2027.
      • August 19-21, 2026: Orientation - Nebraska City (Mandatory)
      • September 16-18, 2026: Western Nebraska
      • October 21-23, 2026: Omaha Metro
      • November 18-20, 2026: Northeast Nebraska
      • January 20-22, 2027: Central Nebraska
      • February 16-18, 2027: Lincoln Area
      • February 18, 2027: Commencement Ceremony
      • Participants who are absent from more than one class session will not graduate. No exceptions.

    • In reviewing applications, the Selection Committee looks for potential participants according to the following criteria:
      • Personal characteristics: motivation, leadership potential, community involvement, interest, and creativity
      • Commitment to serve Nebraska or their local community following graduation
      • Willingness to make the time commitment required by the program
  • Note: Class size is limited to 35. Applicants are encouraged to reapply the following year if not selected.

      • Scholarships are available based on need. If you require financial assistance, please email a letter explaining the reason for your request and the amount needed to Tara Lea at tlea@nechamber.com.
