    SUMMER WORKSHOPS REGISTRATION

  • Try a new class. Meet new friends. Sharpen your skills at the Dance Company's Summer workshops. Tap, jazz, musical theater and more are being offered May through August.

    BASIC classes require a minimum of 5 attendees.

    All other classes require a minimum of 10 attendees.

    Not a member of the Dance Company Club? No problem, the 1/2 price membership fee of $12.50 is valid through December 2026.

    The cost of each workshop for each month is as follows:

    • New members (must be a resident of Sun City) receive 2 free classes prior to becoming a member.
    • Those wishing to join and continue with the workshop will be charged the remaining $10.00.

    Ruth Cuti

    Ruth's Belly Dance classes offer a dynamic, low-impact, full-body
    workout suitable for all fitness levels and body types. She will 
    focus on
    isolating the hips, shoulders, and core, to enhance flexibility, posture, and core strength.

    Ruth will teach basic cultural movements such as shimmies, snake-like arms, and hip circles. As the class progresses the levels of difficulty increase, but the basics are always emphasized as the core of the class.

    Choreography is taught based on class level accomplishment.

    Our version of Chair Tap is based on the Copesetic Tap Dancers from Harlem. They were allowed in the dance clubs for free, as long as they kept dancing! When they tired they continued to dance sitting on chairs. This fast-paced class is the Senior version of Copesetic Chair Dancers. Fun and fast moving sitting and standing with chairs.

    Pre-requisite: Level 1 tap or equivalent

    "One" from A Chorus Line

    Jane Ross

    A fast-paced rehearsal-style class focused on learning and refining the iconic production number “One” from A Chorus Line. One is a precision-oriented chorus line dance number.

    Students will learn to work together in a unified chorus line, drill posture, precision and uniformity. As well as synchronized walks, hat choreography and timing. This class is for the student who may be interested in performing in the production number for 2027.

    Pre-requisite: One year of Jazz or Musical Theater
