Thanks for your interest in volunteering to facilitate a LitArts RI Writing Group!
LitArts RI onboards new writing groups each spring as space becomes available. Writing Group Proposals are evaluated based on the current needs of the community. A full rubric can be viewed here.

LitArts RI Writing Group Facilitators are responsible for moderating the writing group, setting up its schedule and format, and managing all direct communications. Before proceeding, please:
- Read LitArts RI’s Facilitator Agreement and Safe Space Guide
- Review our website to ensure you are not proposing a group for a specific genre or community already on offer
- Think through your idea and reflect on your commitment to leading a community group as a LitArts RI volunteer
Thank you! Please submit only one writing group proposal per year. We will keep your proposal on file until our next onboarding period, and will reach out in the spring if we can accommodate your group.
