• Study Buddies Cafe

    Tutoring for youth in foster care.

  • Please read before completing the Application: 

     

    Study Buddies Cafe was created with the goal to meet foster youth where they are and help them excel academicaly. Tutors will be available for 3 hours to help assist with math, science, english/reading, language and more. A great time for your youth to get assistance in studies or to just have some focus time on homework. 

    Dates for 2026 - 2027 Tutoring: 

    • 10/17/26 - 10am to 1pm 
    • 11/14/26 - 1pm to 3pm 
    • December Date tbd
    • 1/23/27 - 10am to 1pm
    • 2/27/27 -10am to 1pm
    • 3/13/27 - 1pm to 3pm
    • 4/24/27 - 10am to 3pm
    • 5/22/27 - 10am to 1pm

    *Note for the November and March tutoring, the times are changed to 1pm to 3pm if you have a youth signed up for the mentoring prorgram, tutoring will take place immediatly after. 

    During tutoring you are welcome to stay on campus, or to leave and return. 

    All tutors have completed a national background check and Central Registry clearance, and have participated in TBRI orientation to better support youth with a history of trauma.

     APPLICATION PROCESS:

    The application will take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. If you need to pause, you can save your progress and return later.

    Note: You must complete the first section (Contact Information) before you can save.

    A separate form is required for each youth you wish to register.

  • By registering my youth, I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of the minor, grant permission for the above youth to participate in Study Buddies Cafe Tutoring, endorsed and sponsored by Brightmoor Christian Church; 40800 W. 13 Mile Rd. Novi, MI 48377. I understand the arrangements and believe that adequate precautions for the safety of my youth have been and will be provided at this event. I will not hold Brightmoor Christian Church responsible for accidents.  I hereby authorize any leader, volunteer or paid, of Brightmoor Christian Church of Novi, MI to transport my child/children as needed in order to obtain any medical treatment from any licensed physician, surgeon, dentist or medical treatment center; including emergency treatment/transportation.
