  • About

This Expression of Interest invites facilitators to contribute to Falling Together - a four‑day Contact Improvisation residential at Roelands Village, Western Australia. The gathering prioritises depth of practice, mutual care, and relational intelligence, drawing on CI lineages, contemporary practice, and community‑led learning.

We are seeking applications from teachers, facilitators, and researchers focused on contact improvisation, dance, and adjacent areas of movement and somatic practice. We are also interested in applications from musicians and performers, or those who have a unique experience to offer attendees.

We welcome applications from Western Australia, as well as people from other states and territories, and internationals.

EOIs close 6 April 2026. The program will be finalised and all applicants will be notified of the outcome of the EOI process by 26 April 2026.

Falling Together is being held at Roelands Village. Accommodation is dorm-style, with single and bunk beds, and shared bathrooms. The event will be catered by chef Nimrod Kazoom, with vegetarian options available, and other dietary options upon request.

For dancing, there is a large indoor hall (130SQM) where up to 40 dancers can share the space, as well as several smaller spaces (each approx. 40SQM) comprised of a mix of indoor areas and covered verandah spaces suited to small groups of up to 20 dancers. As well as these dance-friendly sheltered spaces, Roelands has a range of beautiful outdoor areas, surrounded by rolling green hills and open sky (though very few flat areas).

Facilitators will be paid for hours of teaching delivered, up to $100/hour for large groups or $50/hour for smaller groups. Facilitators will be required to pay for their ticket attending the whole weekend, and provide proof of their Public Liability insurance coverage.

Tickets for Falling Together will be priced at $580 full price, or $520 earlybird, and will be released in March 2026. Tickets can be purchased via the link here. Ticket price includes access to all workshops and activities, all meals, and accomodation across 4 nights, from Thursday 18th - Monday 22nd June. About the venue

Roelands is located 2 hours south of Perth near Goomburrup / Bunbury, on Wardandi Noongar country in Western Australia. Roelands was originally a farm, and was used as a Mission by the Churches of Christ to house children removed from families from across Western Australia. At times the Mission had more than 100 Aboriginal children living there from all over Western Australia. It is now owned and operated by Woolkabunning Kiaka Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal incorporated organisation with charitable status. We are honoured to have the opportunity to hold our event at this historic site surrounded by the stunning natural environment, to share in the story of Roelands, and to learn from their connection to country.
