• Director Grady Griffin has been serving the City of Trenton for over 30 years as an Emergency Medical Technician. He has dedicated his life to serving the city, its residents, and our surrounding communities. A proud graduate of Trenton Central High School, Grady attended Rider & St. Augustine's College and majored in Communications and Political Science. In the spring of 1992, is where he found his love for Emergency Medical Service. He entered Bucks County Fire Academy’s school for Emergency Medical Technicians. Grady worked hard and graduated in the top quintile of his class as a state certified Emergency Medical Technician.


    Throughout the years Grady has enjoyed the many services that he provides to the greater Trenton community. Hard work has afforded him many promotions throughout the ranks of EMS. He has held the ranks of field training officer, shift supervisor, EMS Captain, EMS Chief, Administrative Chief until his last promotion.


    In 2010 he was promoted to the Departmental Director of the Trenton Emergency Medical Service (TEMS), the first African American to hold this position. During his tenure as Director, he has served as a New Jersey EMS Taskforce State Leader, Federal Emergency Management Agency Officer, Deputy Office of Emergency Management Coordinator and Emergency Management Coordinator for the City’s Office of Emergency Management. Mr. Griffin has been influential with the coordination of resources and leadership during events like 9/11, Hurricanes Ike, Leo, Katrina, Irene, Sandy, Ebola Virus, COVID19 and Monkey Pox.
    During his time away from work, he enjoys family time with his wife and sons. He volunteers as the Assistant Director for the local basketball league where he coaches his sons and mentors up and coming youth basketball players. He is a dedicated 33° freemason and currently serves as the Most Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of America, Inc. A.A.S.R.M. He sits on a variety of local community groups and works extremely hard as a partner to better our city and humanity.
