Welcome and thank you for choosing Cobb Speech and Language Services! We are passionate and dedicated to the field of communication disorders and we are committed to making sure that your child receives individualized, high-quality care!
How to contact your therapy provider:
Our offices can be reached by phone at 404-273-7478, or via email at info@cobbspeechandlanguage.com. As we are often serving other clients, please leave a message if we are unable to answer the phone. We check messages frequently and will respond back as soon as possible. Additionally, your therapist may provide their personal cell phone. We ask if you have a personal number of our therapists that you please communicate with them directly.
Visit Length:
Visits last approximately 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on the client's needs, and arranged treatment plan. This time may include direct patient therapy, patient or caregiver education, and consultation to ensure that all parties are involved in the client's treatment.
Rescheduling, Cancellations, and No-Shows:
Consistent therapy attendance is required by Cobb Speech and Language Services, and is critical for your loved one's success. Nevertheless, we realize that both children and adults suffer sudden illnesses and that emergencies may occur. With this in mind, our attendance policy allows for two (2) cancelled visits, with greater than 24 hours' notice, within a six-month period to accommodate those situations. After the second cancelled appointment we will contact you about your availability to keep appointments and offer times that we have openings or move patients to the waitlist.. Repeated cancellations may result in either forfeiture of permanent appointment, or termination of services. Failure to show up for an appointment with no contact to our office or your assigned therapist prior to the appointment time will be considered a no-show and will be charged a $25.00 No-Show Fee. No-Show Fees are not reimbursed by insurance companies and will be billed to the responsible party. If you miss 2 scheduled treatment sessions without notifying the treating therapist, treatment services will be added to our waitlist and removed from current treatment. If you arrive late for your appointment, your session will either be reduced by the number of minutes you are late, or will be cancelled.
Billing & Payment:
We are in network with some insurance companies. Payment for services rendered by our practice is expected according to our financial policy. As with all insurance companies, your insurance benefits are not a guarantee of payment. Please understand that insurance reimbursements are applicable only after any applicable only after any applicable deductible has been satisfied. We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, and health savings account (HSA) cards.
Sick Child Policy:
At Cobb Speech and Language Services, we realize that therapy is very important to you and your child. However, providing treatment to a child who is not feeling well is not therapeutic and risks exposing providers to an infection or disease that may lead to illness being spread to others. Due to the health concerns that exist with many of our clients, we need to be cautious about exposing children to infection or disease. Therefore, we have established the following illness exclusion policy which adheres to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Infection Control guidelines.
Therapy should not occur if your child or family member who lives in the same house has exhibited any one of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:
Fever (100F+)
Diarrhea (runny, watery, or bloody stools)
Vomiting
Body Rash with fever
Sore throat with fever and swollen glands
Severe coughing
Eye discharge (thick mucus draining from eye, or pink eye)
Yellowish skin or eyes
Upper respiratory illness such as bronchitis or influenza
Chicken Pox
Viral infection
Any parasitic infestation (lice, scabies, etc.)
Bacterial infection
In the event that your child has any of the above or other sickness we request that you cancel the scheduled appointment.
