    New Applicants: Fees for GMW Hangzhou 2026 

    Tuition/Lodging/Meals: $2,100
    Lodging includes seven nights at the state of the art Zhejiang Conservatory of Music campus hotel, checking in on July 25 and checking out on August 1, 2026. Meals include dinner on July 25, three meals per day for July 26 through August 31, and breakfast on August 1.

    Returning Applicants: Fees for GMW Hangzhou 2026 

    Tuition/Lodging/Meals: $1,950 
    Lodging includes seven nights at the state of the art Zhejiang Conservatory of Music campus hotel, checking in on July 25 and checking out on August 1, 2026. Meals include dinner on July 25, three meals per day for July 26 through August 31, and breakfast on August 1.

    Payments are due by June 15, 2026. A confirmation email and payment form will be sent to participants that are accepted into the program.

  • Musical Background

  • Faculty Preferences

  • Participants collaborate closely with faculty members in small bands that rehearse throughout the week in preparation for public performances. Participants will be assigned to three bands over the course of GMW, each led by a different faculty member. This is an intensive music experience, allowing participants to dive deep into a few chosen cultures and styles with the close guidance of faculty band leaders.

  • Participant Media Release

  • I hereby grant permission to allow The Silk Road Project, Inc. and its designees to use images of my participation in the Global Musician Workshop (GMW) Hangzhou 2026 in any and all media (e.g., print, photo, film, video, broadcast, recordings, Internet), in perpetuity, should I be accepted to the program. I understand that the images may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, or distributed, and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein their likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of their image or recording.

    I understand that The Silk Road Project, Inc. may share the resulting media, in full or in part, for non-commercial, promotional, and fundraising purposes, and that The Silk Road Project, Inc. is released from any responsibility of securing any necessary permissions, rights, and credits needed for any works or materials used or created during the Event unless otherwise previously stated.

    This release applies to photographic, audio, or video recordings collected as part of the Global Musician Workshop Hangzhou only. There is no time limit on the validity of this release nor is there any geographic limitation on where these materials may be distributed.

  • Participant Liability Release

  • If accepted, I consent to my participation in Global Musician Workshop (GMW) Hangzhou 2026 taking place at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Hangzhou, China, and affirm that my participation is entirely voluntary and not required. In consideration for my participation in GMW Hangzhou 2026, and all other benefits to me arising therefrom, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge Silk Road Project and its employees, trustees, volunteers, insurers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns and Zhejiang Conservatory and its employees, trustees, volunteers, insurers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns (collectively, “Releasees”) from any and all claims, actions, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and attorney’s fees arising from any property damage, accident, illness (including, without limitation infection with the 2019 novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 and its variants), or other injury (including death) that I may suffer as a result of my participation in GMW Hangzhou 2026, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I acknowledge and appreciate the dangers, hazards, and risks of participation, attest to have fully considered the risks and hazards, and agree to assume the risks involved.

    I understand that Releasees do not have medical personnel available at GMW Hangzhou 2026. I understand and agree that Releasees are granted permission to transport me and to authorize emergency medical treatment, if deemed necessary by Releasees. I understand and agree that Releasees assume no responsibility for any injury or damage which might arise out of, or in connection with such authorized emergency medical treatment.

    This Release supersedes all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to the subject matter of the Release. If any term or provision of this Release is invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or
    unenforceability shall not affect any other term or provision of this Release or invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction. This Release is binding on and shall inure to the benefit of GMW Hangzhou 2026 and me and our respective successors and assigns.
