KY TRIO Professional Scholarship

 This award is to be used for educational expenses or to attend professional development.

Criteria for the KY TRIO Professional Scholarship
[Award: $250.00]

APPLICANTS MUST BE 

A current KY TRIO Professional with a paid state membership 

APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT

1. A Resume or CV (Curriculum Vitae) which highlights TRIO Employment, Honors & Awards, Leadership, Community, Volunteer Service, TRIO Involvement
   
   
2. A Letter of Recommendation from sponsoring TRIO Staff 
   
   
3. Personal Essay (400-500 Words) Essay Prompts (answer all 3 parts):

• How will this scholarship help to further either your professional development or academic aspirations?
  
  
• Why is it important to further either your professional development or academic aspirations?
  
  
• How will NOT receiving these funds affect you? 

Style Guidelines for Essay:

●      In the right header, type the applicant's first initial and last name

●      In the left header, type the name of the award (KY TRIO Professional Scholarship)

●      Essay should be between 400-500 words. All essays should have a title. Titles and information in the header do not contribute to the word count of the essay.

●      Essay should be in Arial or Calibri fonts only, with a 12-point size, and double (2.0) spacing with 1-inch margins (top, bottom, left, right)

 

Deadline to submit: 4:00 PM CST/ 5:00 PM EST on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Applications that are incomplete or missing required information WILL NOT be considered and will be disqualified. 

Please note, you must be a paid KY TRIO Member by the deadline date to submit a scholarship nomination.
