EASCTC NEW JERSEY OPEN HOUSE — SCHOOL GUIDELINES
Event Date: May 13, 2026
The Eastern Atlantic States Carpenters Technical Centers (EASCTC) are proud to host the EASCTC New Jersey Open House on May 13, 2026. This event is designed as an educational opportunity for students to explore career pathways in the union construction industry and learn about apprenticeship training, safety, and the skilled trades.
To ensure that the Open House is informative, engaging, and safe for all attendees, participating schools are required to follow the guidelines outlined below. By participating, schools acknowledge full responsibility for the conduct and wellbeing of their students, school staff members, and chaperones—consistent with expectations for any school‑sanctioned field trip.
School Expectations and Requirements
Chaperone Requirements
- Schools must provide at least one (1) chaperone who is 21 years of age or older for every 10 students.
- Chaperones must remain with and actively supervise their assigned students at all times during the event.
Behavior and Conduct Standards
To maintain a welcoming and professional environment:
- Derogatory, discriminatory, harassing, or offensive language or behavior is strictly prohibited.
- Any student, school staff member, or chaperone who violates this policy must be removed from the event immediately.
- EASCTC staff, event coordinators, and their designees reserve the right to remove anyone who engages in inappropriate or discriminatory conduct of any kind.
- Vaping, smoking, and use of controlled dangerous substances or alcohol are strictly prohibited anywhere on the event premises.
- Vandalism of any kind is prohibited, including damage to:
- EASCTC facilities
- Demonstration areas
- Exhibitor equipment
- Any other property onsite
- Gambling of any form is not allowed during the event.
Any violation of these rules will result in removal from the premises and bar attendance at any future open house event.
Reporting Misconduct
- Any school staff member or chaperone who witnesses discriminatory, offensive, unsafe, or otherwise inappropriate behavior by any attendee must report it immediately to an EASCTC Open House coordinator or staff member.
- EASCTC staff reserve the right to remove any individual whose behavior jeopardizes the event or the wellbeing of students, staff, or guests.
Event Commitment
The EASCTC expects all participating schools to actively supervise their students, promote appropriate conduct, and ensure a safe, positive experience for everyone attending the Open House.
Our goal is to provide students with meaningful exposure to the union construction trades, apprenticeship opportunities, and career pathways in a safe and supportive environment.
