HPL Poetry Contest 2026
Wednesday, April 1 – Thursday, April 30 Open to Teens 6th-12th Grades. In honor of National Poetry Month, the Homewood Public Library is holding a teen poetry contest. Create an original poem (maximum 2 pages in length) in any poetry style. Writers can submit up to two original poems. Poems can only be submitted via this form. If submitting two poems, please submit each poem separately. Our judges will read each poem and determine 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced in May. With the writers' permission we will be binding and printing a book of the collection of the poems entered into this contest to be added to our collection at the library for checkout.
