Character Breakdown:
Protagonists/Antagonists:
Jacob: A "haunted but ambitious" writer and poet who is the central protagonist. He struggles with healing from a past relationship and seeks a "greater calling" through his work, eventually using the tragedy of his friends to write a best-selling novel.
Anthony: A sincere and overly ambitious photographer who serves as the film's primary antagonist. He uses his photography to "reveal truths" but eventually descends into ritualistic murder, "wiring" his subjects into a macabre art installation devoted to Jacob.
The Honey Trap Club - Gogo Boys
Danny: A senior member of the club who acts as a protector for the younger dancers. He is the first to welcome Jacob into their community as well as the first to warn him about Anthony's dangerous behavior.
Alston: A confident dancer who is highly protective of his friends. One of the club's highest earners and the first to grab Anthony's photographic eye. He looks out for the most vulnerable in their group and helps them financially when he can and takes on modeling for Anthony's project to make extra cash. He is the second dancer to go missing after a private session with Anthony and is later found preserved in the art installation.
Joel: The youngest and most vulnerable of the original trio. A natural flirt, he hops on any chance to hang out with Anthony. He is utimately lured into a solo session with Anthony and becomes the first victim of the ritualistic "mapping".
Isaac (early 20s): A dancer who's getting comfortable in the night life space and finds refuge with the older boys at the club. He survives a near-choking incident during a session with Anthony. He ultimately becomes the one to stop Anthony, using the artist's own staple gun against him to save Jacob.
Alex: Another gogo dancer at the club who alerts Jacob to the fact that Danny has "lost his mind" over the missing boys. He helps cover for Joel who everyone assumes skipped town.
Supporting Characters
Ethan: Jacob’s ex-boyfriend whose departure at the beginning of the story leaves Jacob devastated. He reappears later in the film, leading to a brief three-way encounter with Anthony and Jacob, before becoming another victim added to the installation.
Tiffany: An open mic performer at the Honey Trap who provides brief emotional support to Jacob during his moments of panic.
Luca: A "hipster" fan of Jacob’s work who appears in the final scene at a book signing. His interaction with Jacob suggests the cycle of predatory observation and "hunger" is beginning anew.
