Extract from Rules: -
Definitions:
"full member" means member of the Association who pays ARYA and RSAWA fees through this Association;
“affiliate member” means member who pays ARYA and RSAWA fees with another radio sailing Association;
“probationary member” means member applying for membership under full or affiliate member conditions;
“ARYA” means Australian Radio Yachting Association (Inc);
“RSAWA” means Radio Sailing Association of Western Australia (Inc); -
Voting rights of members of Club:
36. Voting rights of members of Association:
(1) Subject to these rules, each full member present in person or by proxy at a general meeting is entitled to a deliberative vote.
(2) Subject to these rules, each affiliate member present in person is not entitled to a deliberative vote.
(3) Subject to these rules, each probationary member present is not entitled to a deliberate vote. -
By- Law 1.
Probationary Membership:
1. The Probationary new member will be expected to meet all aspects of demeanour, attitude and sportsmanship as per Rule 1 and Rule 15(1) of the Association Rules.
2. Each new member shall serve a probationary period of no less than 6 months, during which period the new member must attend no less than 10 regular sailing dates or regattas, as per the club calendar:
(a) Should sailing date/s be cancelled by the committee during the probationary period of six months, the new member will be credited with having attended for the cancelled date/s.
(b) Should the new member be unable to attend for the required number of regattas during this period for reasons other than committee cancellations as per 2 (a), the new member will notify the committee the reasons for non-attendance and request a period of probation extension.
3. The committee of the association will:
(1) Consider the grounds for such notification as presented in 2 (b), and the committee will advise the probationary member if such extension is to be granted or denied.
(2) Failure to comply with 2. (b) will result in a breach of member application conditions and loss of membership.
(3) A probationary member who ceases to be a member for non-compliance under bylaw 1. (b) shall receive no right of appeal to the committee under Rule 15 of the constitution.
(4). The Committee reserves the right to over-rule and void Rule 2. of the by-laws under extraordinary circumstances, as presented by the new probationary member. -
