I understand that JEI does not allow the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by volunteers to write any part of their application or reviews. I understand if I am found in violation of this policy my application may be denied, retraining will be required, or my volunteer role will be removed.*

I acknowledge that JEI asks that I volunteer for a minimum of 6 months if I am a Reviewer or Associate Editor and 12 months if I am a Copy or Proofing Editor. I understand they have these expectations given the staff and volunteer time put into training and providing feedback to new volunteers.*

I acknowledge that in order to get CEI credit through volunteering with JEI, I must be an active Copy or Associate Editor for at least 12 months. I understand that if I have large periods or unavailability or decline many assignment invites that I will need to volunteer for longer than 12 months to fulfill CEI requirements.*

I understand that in order to request a letter of reference or support from JEI in relation to the items mentioned above I must have completed at least three reviewer and/or editor assignments. The comments submitted for my assignments must be my own pursuant to JEI's plagiarism and AI policies and they must be consistent with JEI standards stated in the position-specific handbooks I will receive access to after completion of this application. I also understand that upon requesting a letter will trigger a review of my work by the Editors in Chief to determine if a letter can be provided by JEI.*
