This six-day, part-time workshop is organised by Countertechnique, in partnership with HJS Studio, at Chasse Dance Studio's in Amsterdam.

Countertechnique Summer Special 2026

25–30 July in Amsterdam — inaugural edition!

Twenty years after the inception of the One Body One Career Countertechnique Intensive (OBOC), we are more than excited that OBOC is getting a sister event!

OBOC has been designed for professional dancers and dance students to delve in full-time for two weeks — for those who aspire to pursue long and healthy careers and want to dance until they drop.

OBOC's sister event, Countertechnique Summer Special, offers a thorough introduction to Countertechnique, with a light touch.

Short but sweet. Focused, but dosed.

You will be working with Countertechnique founder and artistic director Anouk van Dijk, and OBOC faculty members Senior Teacher Na-ye Kim, Countertechnique Teachers Eva Schaller and Francesca Dominguez, and long-standing OBOC faculty, Teacher Alexander Technique Tom Koch!

Summer Special includes:
- Introduction to Countertechnique, in theory and practice
- Working with experienced Countertechnique teachers and OBOC faculty
- Daily classes and reflection
- Tools for improvisation
- Building a personal toolbox
- Exchanges with like-minded dance and movement enthusiasts
- Q&A with Founder Anouk van Dijk
- Alexander Technique, pain management, and constructive rest
- Join the plenary opening of OBOC and meet dance artists from around the world
- Invitations to drinks, gatherings, and the closing sharing event of OBOC on 4 August

Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships will be available for the Winter Warming, which will be awarded on the basis of financial need. If scholarships are provided to you, scholarships by default will cover only 25-50% of the participation fee; only in exceptional cases will a scholarship cover 100% of the fee. Scholarships apply only to the participation fee; all participants are responsible for covering their own travel, housing and any other expenses.
