Call for Abstracts ACEFA Conference
  • Call for abstracts: ACEFA 2026

We are excited to call for abstracts for our ACEFA Conference 2026 under the theme ‘Evolving Engagement, Tailored Action, Empowered Communities’.

The Conference will focus on the need to adapt to changing risks and expectations, apply research and data-driven and locally relevant approaches, and empower communities as active partners in risk reduction.

The Conference program is available on the website https://acefaconference.com.au/program/

Abstract submissions close: 22 April 2026

For further information please email: acefa.conference@rfs.nsw.gov.au

  • Session information

Our sessions are available in two lengths.

    • 30 minute presentation or workshop
    • 70 minute workshop

    What's the difference?

Presentations are intended for participants to receive information in short, sharp bursts. Presenters will typically deliver a 20-25 minute topic and have 5 minutes for Q&A.

Workshops are intended for participants to gain or practice skills or tools that they can apply in their role in the RFS. Workshops should be interactive and include opportunity for discussion during the session. They are available in 30 minute or 70 minute slots. The 70 minute workshop should include an activity.

  • Program Streams

There are 4 main program streams.

We also welcome wildcard abstract submissions which don't necessarily align with a stream but which are an important topic in community engagement.
