Conditions of Entry
1. Neither the Western Equestrian Society, Oakridge Arena, Oakridge Quarter Horses, nor the Show Management, shall be held responsible for any loss, damage or expense incurred to any person or horse at the show for whatsoever cause arising. All entries shall be at the sole risk of the competitor.
2. All objections or complaints must be made in writing to the Show Manager and must be received by them not later than 1 hour after the completion of showing for the day on which the alleged incident occurs, accompanied by a deposit of £10; this will be returned if the objection or complaint is substantiated.
3. The show organisers, at their own discretion, may at any time before or during the show, reject any entry whether the same has been accepted or not, and their decision in this respect, without giving any reason, shall be final.
4. No unauthorised person(s) may enter the show ring at any time.
5. There shall be no return of entries incorrectly submitted.
6. All entrants into classes should be conversant with the rules of the Western Equestrian Society as set down in the current WES Rulebook, available on the WES website, http:/wes-uk.com
7. Neither the Society not the organisers will be held responsible for the failure of any competitor in understanding these rules.
8. Competitors MUST ensure they have adequate Third Part insurance cover.
9. Horse riding can be a dangerous sport. Competitors are expected to be responsible at all times.
10. British Horse Society (BHS) approved hard hats are mandatory for all youth competitors under the age of 14, whenever riding or handling a horse. For up to date BHS guidance please refer to their websire www.bhs.org.uk
11. Youth competitors aged 14 or over may wear western hats (Stetsons) subject to a disclaimer signed by a parent or legal guardian.
12. Adult riders choosing to ride with a western hat, do so at their own risk and must sign a disclaimer.
13. Children must be supervised at all times. Parents or legal guardians of children found not to be supervised and causing inconvenience or hazard, may be asked to leave the show ground.
14. All dogs must be kept on a lead. DOGS MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO ROAM FREE ON THE SHOW GROUND AT ANY TIME. Please think of others and always clean up after your dog(s).
15. BBQs are not permitted to be used anywhere on the Oakridge Arena grounds, for reassons of health & safety/fire safety.
16. Vehicle parking - all persons who have travelled to the show in a vehicle and parked on the Oakridge Arena site (whether or not you have booked a electric hook up) are to ensure they park their vehicles(s), including any caravens, at a safe distance for each other, to mitigate any risk of spread of fire.
