BFNL clubs may apply to the BFNL Board for Long Term Injury Exemptions exemptions for the three Football Competitions.
It is incumbent on all persons associated with this application to be aware of the conditions contained in the policy relating to the use of Long Term Injury Exemptions.
BFNL Football By-Law 29.9 states the criteria for Long Term Injury Exemptions:
- A long-term injury is defined as a single injury that was sustained while training or playing for his AFL VictoriaCountry affiliated club (practice matches included) that prevents the player competing in five games of that home and away season or any other football/sporting competition for that season.
- Applications may include information on the players rehabilitation history for this injury and a medical certificate confirming the injury. Further documentation may be required by the League to substantiate the request.
- Player must have been registered with the club in the previous season to be eligible for exemption.
- This exemption will be granted strictly on long term injury and nothing else, including retirement or travel.
- This application must be received by the league by 5pm on the last business day four rounds prior to the first final of that season.
- Any player not granted an exemption will be required to fulfil all eligibility criteria.
- The decision of the league on all exemptions shall be final.
