Cedar Valley Community Theatre The Sound Of Music 2026 - Audition Form
The Sound of Music is a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical about Maria, a high-spirited Austrian postulant who becomes governess to seven children of a strict widowed naval captain in 1938. She brings music and joy back to the home, falling in love with the children and the Captain. As the Nazis annex Austria, the family make a daring escape to Switzerland. Audition Details
Please fill out the form below to schedule your audition for The Sound of Music. We welcome performers ages 5 and up to audition. Auditions will be held on Monday, March 16th, from 6:30–9:30 PM. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, March 17th, from 6:30–9:30 PM, and the callback list will be posted on our website the morning of March 17th. The final cast list will be announced on Friday, March 20th. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, March 23rd, and will be held in the evenings from 6:30–9:30 PM, 3 to 4 days a week. Performances are scheduled for May29th through June 6th, 2026. Please come prepared with 16–32 bars of a song in the style of the musical. Bring a backing track or sheet music. A speaker will be provided as well as an accompanist, if needed. In addition, you may be asked to cold read a short side from the script.
