    Mission Statement

    "To empower and inspire men through spiritual growth, community engagement, and leadership development in Nigeria, fostering connections that transcend cultural boundaries and promote holistic well-being, with a focus on Torah observance and Hebrew identity."

    Goals

    1. Spiritual Renewal: To provide a transformational experience for participants that deepens their faith in the Torah and strengthens their relationship with Yahuah.
    2. Community Impact: To engage in meaningful service activities that address local needs and enhance the lives of our Bantu-Niger-Congo people in Nigeria.
    3. Leadership Development: To equip men with practical skills and knowledge through workshops and training sessions that cultivate their leadership potential within a Hebrew context.
    4. Cultural Exchange: To foster mutual understanding and appreciation between participants and the Nigerian community, promoting cross-cultural relationships rooted in faith and Hebrew identity.


    Objectives

    • Conduct three days of Men's Retreat Workshops and Training focused on Torah observance, leadership, personal development, and spiritual growth in line with Hebrew teachings.
    • Facilitate community outreach activities, including a free health screening at Maranatha Health Center, to provide essential medical services to underprivileged individuals.
    • Organize site visits, including exploring the cultural heritage of Owo, to create shared experiences that encourage fellowship and learning among participants.
    • Conclude with a celebratory worship service on Shabbat, creating a space for participants to share their experiences and insights gained throughout the trip, emphasizing their Hebrew identity and commitment to Torah observance.


    Overall Description
    The GAI Men's Retreat and Missions Trip to Nigeria is a week-long journey designed to engage men in spiritual growth, community service, and leadership development, all within the framework of Torah observance and Hebrew identity. From August 5 to 12, 2026, participants will arrive in Nigeria, where they will embark on a transformative experience that includes workshops, cultural immersion, and direct engagement with local communities. Sponsored and organized by Andrew Ben Yashar'el, the retreat aims to cultivate a sense of brotherhood among men, enabling them to return home inspired and equipped to serve their communities and grow in faith. With an itinerary that balances personal development, community service, and cultural exploration, this mission trip will leave a lasting impact on both the participants and the communities they serve.

    Embark on a 5-hour road trip to Owo, Ondo State
    Check into Femroyal Hotel Owo

    Visit to the King of Owo - Olowo


    Shabbat, August 8th

    Worship and sharing of the Bosorah at Maranatha Health Center

  • Nigeria Men's Retreat and Missions Trip Commitment Form

  • I realize that commitment from me for this upcoming Retreat is very important.  In signing this form, I understand the following:

    1. I will fully commit myself to prepare and participate in this trip this summer 2026 or January 2027.
    2. I will faithfully attend scheduled meetings and fund-raising activities.  If unable to attend, I will contact Great Awakening International in advance if at all possible.

    Please confirm you have checked your calendar and will be at all of these meetings and have read and understand the Retreat and Mission Trip Policy by initialing each line. If you have a conflict, please do not submit this form, but instead contact Great Awakening International Missions Team to set up an appointment to discuss your commitment form.

    3. I will be held financially responsible for the cost of this Retreat and Missions Trip.  If for any reason I am unable to go, I will be responsible for any costs that cannot be refunded such as airfare, fees associated with Great Awakening. 
     4. The cost of my airfare must be paid by the due date indicated on the payment schedule, in order to have my ticket reserved in my name; otherwise, I may be required to forfeit my place on the team. 
    5. If at any time, I experience difficulty in raising the balance, I will discuss this immediately with Great Awakening International.
    6. I commit to maintaining a positive attitude  a servant spirit.
    7. I agree to respect the authority of the appointed Team leaders.


    • I understand that Great Awakening International may dismiss me from the Retreat and Missions Trip or take action to alter or diminish my participation in the Awake Africa Tour at any time if I engage in behavior that is in violation of this Statement or any applicable law; that may endanger the health or well-being of myself or others; that interferes with the operation of this missions trip and tour; or that interferes with the full participation and enjoyment of other participants in this missions trip and tour.


    To ensure smooth and efficient planning, we ask all to review, and agree to the Men's Retreat and Missions Trip form to confirm your commitment to the trip. Please note, you will not be considered confirmed for GAi Men's Retreat and Missions Trip until this form are complete and payment method is finalized.
