Scholarship Application Instructions
Scholarship Award Amount: $500

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements:

Applicants must major or intend to concentrate their post-secondary studies in one of the following areas:

• Visual Arts

• Design

• Radio, TV, Film

• Instrumental Music

• Vocal Music

• Theater

• Dance

• Culinary

• Applicant must be a resident within the Forney Independent School District and be in their senior year of high school.

• Applicant may not be related to any past or present Forney Arts Council Board members.

• Applications and all other required materials should be submitted via the online form, email to info@forneyarts.org or by mail to Forney Arts Council P.O. BOX #771 Forney, Texas 75126.

• Application and all other required materials must be received by May 1, 2026 to be eligible for consideration.

• Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered for the scholarship.

Selection:

A selection committee, as appointed by the Forney Arts Council, will select the scholarship recipients. For selection purposes, recipients of the 2026 Forney Arts Council Scholarship will be determined based on a combination of applicants academic promise (as determined by high school grade-point average), community involvement, extra curricular activities, and application essay questions.

Application Timeline:

• Application Submissions Open: March 1, 2026

• Application Deadline: May 1, 2026

• Award Notification: End of May 2026

Award Notification:

Recipients will be notified via letter and email specifying the terms of the award. Recipients shall sign and return one copy of the award notice, acknowledging the terms and certifying that the funds will be used only for educational expenses.

Disbursements:

Upon determination of the Scholarship Committee, checks will be mailed directly to the applicant. One check will include the full amount of the scholarship.
