Solar Heat Europe enquiry: CBAM extension
The Board of Directors of Solar Heat Europe confirmed the association's intention to request the inclusion of solar thermal collectors in the extension of the CBAM. Our aim is to protect EU-made solar thermal collectors from cheaper non-EU made products.

In order to properly advocate for the inclusion of solar thermal technologies, please confirm the custom codes you use related to the imports and exports of solar thermal collectors. From our knowledge, the current code is 841912 00.

In addition, we need to assess the need of adding any additional downstream component (such as glass, absorbers, water tanks, vacuum tubes…) in the extension of the CBAM.

Important: All the information collected through this survey will remain confidential and will only be used for internal purposes of Solar Heat Europe.

In addition to ST collectors (finished products), we need to evaluate the need to also advocate for the inclusion of components and related ST products to be added in the CBAM extension. To assess this, can you please provide us with the custom codes of the main components of solar thermal collectors (e.g. glass, absorbers, tubes, etc.) or related products (e.g. water tanks) that you import from outside the European Union? Companies importing less than 50 tonnes of CBAM materials are exempted, it is therefore critical to be aware of the information on quantity.
