    At The Swan Centre, we believe in supporting the heart of our town. As part of our "Here for What Matters Most" initiative, we are looking for our next Charity of the Year. We’ve narrowed it down to eight incredible local organizations that go above and beyond for Leatherhead. Now, the final choice is in your hands. Your vote will decide which charity receives a year of dedicated fundraising, event space, and awareness-building right here in the centre.

    Leatherhead Youth Project (LYP)
    LYP provides a safe haven and essential support for young people (aged 11–24) in Leatherhead and across Mole Valley. Through their BFree Youth Cafe and innovative mentoring programs, they help local youth overcome barriers, build resilience, and reach their full potential.

    Located right in the heart of our community, the Leatherhead Samaritans provide 24/7 emotional support to anyone struggling to cope. Their dedicated local volunteers offer a lifeline to those facing distress or despair, ensuring that no one in our area has to face their darkest moments alone.

    A vital local charity providing short-stay accommodation and support for homeless individuals in the Leatherhead area. They don’t just provide a bed; they offer "direct access" help with health, benefits, and finding long-term housing, helping people get back on their feet and off the streets.

    Based at Leatherhead Court, Dyscover provides long-term support for people living with aphasia (a communication disability usually caused by a stroke or brain injury). Their speech and language therapists lead sessions that help members and their families rediscover their voices and confidence.

    A unique and vibrant theatre company based in Leatherhead that brings together artists with and without disabilities. They use dance, drama, and film to challenge perceptions and provide a creative home where local people can gain independence, social skills, and self-expression.

    Headquartered at Tyrwhitt House in Leatherhead, this is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. They provide specialist clinical treatment for former servicemen and women dealing with complex trauma and PTSD, helping them and their families rebuild their lives.

    Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
    With their national headquarters based right here in Leatherhead, CRY works to prevent young sudden cardiac death through awareness and heart screening. They support families affected by tragedy and offer free screening clinics for young people aged 14–35 across the country.
