  • Section 3 - Attendance - Full Week vs Specific Days

  • In this section you will be asked to select which days you are attending the festival. You will then be asked to select which workshop you would like to attend on each day. The festival will be taking place at the Curve Theatre and LCB Depot both situated in Leicester centre. Full festival schedule will be shared with you after your registration.

There will always be two workshops taking place at the same time and all workshops have a numbers cap of 30 participants.  This means we need to know your selection to monitor numbers. We will be operating on a "first come first serve basis". You will be emailed which workshop you will attend once we have confirmed numbers of people attending.

    NSDF: LAB with White Noise

White Noise are running NSDF lab workshops EVERY day of the festival. LAB involves devising a piece of theatre and performing this at the end of the festival.

Untitled Sex Health Show is a dark comedy about sexual health and coming of age. Combining drag, pop culture, electronic music and a suspicious talking bin, the show encourages positive conversations about sexual health and empowers people to have happier, healthier sex lives.

Join a week of research and development of a new show by NSDF alumni company White Noise Theatre:

    - Share your thoughts and ideas around the topic of sexual health.

    - Develop your skills in performance art, drag, cabaret and comedy.

    - Learn about devising and collaboration in a real, professional creative room.

    - Make a meaningful contribution to the development of a new show that will be shared at the end of the festival.

Come for one session or the whole week!

    Dates and Times are:
    Tuesday 7th April - 2-4pm
    Wednesday 8th April - 11am-1pm
    Thursday 9th April - 11am-1pm
    Friday 10th April - 11am-1pm
Saturday 11th April 9am-12pm (Tech and Last rehearsal) 1-2pm performance sharing.

Technical workshops are also being held primarily for our Young Technicians - a group of young people involved in teching the shows at the festival - however general festival participants are welcome to join these workshops too.

    Festival Performances:

Across the festival, you’ll have the chance to see a selection of performances chosen through our show submissions process. Created by emerging artists from across the UK, these shows bring fresh ideas, new voices, and a wide range of styles to the National Student Drama Festival stage.

    Festival Rehearsed Reading
Experience new writing brought to life in a rehearsed reading. Actors perform with scripts in hand, giving audiences a chance to hear bold ideas, fresh voices, and stories still in development.

Morning Reflection - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings
A relaxed morning conversation led by Amy Dalton-Hardy to gather, reflect, and share ideas with other artists at the National Student Drama Festival. We’ll chat about the work we’ve seen, the world we’re living in, and how theatre can respond to it. Then we’ll look forward, what kind of theatre do we want to make next? What risks do we want to take, and how might we shape the future of theatre together?
