  • 2027 Shooting Stars Nomination Form

  • Dear Nominating Teacher,

    Thank you for being a part of the 2027 Shooting Stars Program! We are so glad that you're nominating a student this year.

    Before you nominate, please discuss the Shooting Stars Program with your potential nominee. Then to nominate your student please complete and submit the Nomination Form below between April 20-May 4th

     After you submit the Nomination Form, the following will happen:

    • You will receive a Nomination Confirmation Email.   
    • Your nominated student will receive a Nomination Notification Email that includes a link to the Shooting Stars Program and the Application Form. Students must review the progam requirments and due dates with their parents/guardian before deciding whether or not to participate in the Shooting Stars Program.
    • Also provided in the Nomination Notification Email will be a link for the Shooting Stars Application Form, which the student needs to complete and submit on or before 11:59 pm Monday, May 11th, 2026
    • Should the student you nominate decide not to participate, they need to contact you immediately so you will have time to nominate another student if you so desire.
    • Important: the student may only access the Application Form via the link provided in the Nomination Notification Email they receive. Please let your student know to watch for the email. The student should receive the message within 1 hour after you submit the Nomination Form. If student does not receive the email, have them check their spam/junk mail folder and if not there, contact the Arts Council.
    • Important: please enter only a non-high school email address for the student you are nominating. Auto-generated confirmation messages are commonly blocked by school firewalls so your student may not receive the message if a "school supported email address" is used.
    • You and your nominated student (Finalist) will receive an Application Submission Notification Email when the student submits their Application Form.

    The Arts Council will review the student’s Application Form for completeness. Should we need any clarification or additional information, ACJC will contact the student direclty. 

    The Teacher Nomination period is open from April 20 - May 4,2026. All Nomination Forms are due on or before 11:59 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026

    The Student Application period is open from April 20-May 11, 2026. All Application Forms are due on or before 11:59 pm on Monday, May 11, 2026

    No late or incomplete Forms will be accepted.

    When completing the Form, please use proper formatting and capitalization for names, titles, phone numbers, etc.

  • Student Participation Eligibility

    • Students must be a resident of Johnson County, KS
    • Students must be a rising high school senior (11th grade going into 12th grade)
    • Students must be nominated for Shooting Stars by their high school Arts and/or English teacher
      • Nominating teachers who are also parents/guardians of students in their high school may not nominate their own child for Shooting Stars.
