Thank you Teaching Artists for your interest in working with the Kodiak Arts Council for the 2026 Sum'Arts for Kids program. For priority consideration, please complete and submit this form by Friday, March 27, 2026
The goals of the program are to offer quality, affordable arts instruction for youth, and to support Teaching Artists and their professional development through paid work in the arts economy.
Generally, Sum'Arts classes are structured for two hours per day for five days per week for up to 12 students. Teaching Artists are paid $700 per week for a 2-hour per day class, and the Arts Council purchases all supplies.
There may be opportunities for creative scheduling, such as the addition of one-day classes, or week-long 90 minute class, or pairing a teacher who wants to teach a three-day class with a teacher who has content for a two-day class.
Submission of a class proposal form does not guarantee inclusion in the Sum'Arts for Kids program. In building the Sum'Arts schedule each year, we consider a variety of factors including program diversity, classroom space availability, and avoiding scheduling conflicts.
