Deadline: April 15, 2026
Purpose
Named in honor of Joan Hemenway, a pillar of the association, this scholarship recognizes the significant financial burdens many ACPE students face.
The Foundation will award stipends of up to $2,000 to as many as 25 students enrolled in a summer ACPE CPE unit or Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy clinical placement. Funds may be used to support housing, living expenses, educational debt, or other costs associated with participation.
Eligibility
Applicants must be fully accepted into:
- An ACPE-accredited CPE program, or
- An accredited Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy program.
- Some restrictions may apply for international students. Please direct questions to foundation@acpe.edu.
Application Criteria
Priority will be given to ACPE students who:
- Have accepted a position in an unpaid summer CPE unit or Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy clinical placement and can provide documentation of acceptance;
- Identify as part of underrepresented populations within ACPE;
- Demonstrate financial need and the impact this support would have on their ability to participate.
- Hemenway Scholars will be required to submit a written reflection on their learning experience following completion of their summer unit.
Additional Information
The Hemenway Scholars Program seeks to foster a cohort model in which scholars can connect and check in with one another as they navigate ACPE culture and processes.
Scholars may also be invited to participate in an exit interview about their ACPE experience. Feedback may be used to strengthen and improve the program for future students.
