    Eligibility criteria

    Baseline Requirements:

     Judging Criteria

The selection process will feature multiple components, with judges looking beyond physical appearance. The evaluation criteria will include:

    •       Interview: An interview is a standard pageant component to assess a contestant's personality, communication skills, and ability to serve as an ambassador

    •       Patriotism and Americanism: Given the American Legion's focus on these values, contestants will likely be evaluated on their knowledge and support of American principles and veterans' causes.

    •       Platform and community service: The pageant will judge contestants on a specific platform or project related to community service, mirroring the charitable goals of the event.

    •       Evening gown: An evening gown competition will judge poise, confidence, and stage presence.

    •       Sport Attire: Contestants will model an outfit that represents their favorite sport or athletic activity. Judging will be based on creativity, appropriateness, presentation, and how well the attire reflects the contestant’s personality and interest in physical activity.

    Potential military service considerations

The committee will also consider criteria related to military service. Such factors include:

    •       Military history: Recognition of a contestant's own military service, if applicable.
