    Formerly held at the Lord Roberts Centre, the NSRA British 50M Open Championship features both prone and 3P disciplines.

    In 2025, the British 50M Prone event took place at Sywell Range near Northampton. The programme included the Earl Roberts 1923 Match and the 50 Metre Rapid‑Fire Match, both of which had previously been part of the Bisley National Rifle Meeting. Sywell also introduced a 100 Yards Sharpshooters Pairs Match, a rapid‑fire, disc‑breaking competition that was formerly contested at the Scottish Rifle Meeting.

    This year, we are extremely grateful to the Welsh Target Shooting Federation for hosting the event at Tondu Target Shooting Club (TTSC) on the 27th and 28th of June 2026.

      Eliminators & 'Qualification': 60 shots at 50M

      The maximum number of athletes progressing from Elimination to
      'Qualification' is dependent on the number of firing points available at the
      venue. The numbers will be calculated by using the following formula:

      The usable number of firing points is divided by the total number of athletes on the start lists multiplied by the number of athletes on the start list for each relay.

      e.g., 60 firing points and 101 athletes:
      1st relay: 54 athletes 60 ÷ 101 x 54 = 32.08 (32) athletes.
      2nd relay: 47 athletes 60 ÷ 101 x 47 = 27.92 (28) athletes.

      'Qualification': 60 shots (20 kneeling, 20 prone, 20 standing) at 50M

      The top eight (8) shooters from the 'qualification' round advance to the mixed final.

      Final: 10 match shots in each of the Kneeling and Prone positions, followed by 10 match shots in the Standing position. After this stage, eliminations begin.
      The Final then continues in the Standing position with single shots fired on command, each within a 50‑second time limit. After each shot, the athlete with the lowest ranking is eliminated. This process continues until two athletes remain, who then fire the final shot to determine the winner.

                  Shot under NSRA equipment rules. This is a Mixed championship match consisting of four elimination details and a qualification detail to determine the NSRA British Champion (no Final). 60 shot course of fire in Elimination & Qualification details to be shot in 50 minutes.  There will be NO Final for this competition.

                  Shot under ISSF equipment rules. This championship runs concurrently with NSRA 50M Prone but is split into Men's and Women's categories. All competitors must pass ISSF Equipment Control in order to compete. There will be NO Final for this competition.

                  Shot under NSRA equipment rules. This is a Mixed Championship match. The 3P "Qualification" detail will be used to determine the NSRA British 3P Champion and the NSRA British 3P Women's Champion.
