  • Outings are FREE and open to Mainframe tenants only. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

    Note: Tenants are responsible for their transportation to and from outings.

  • Tuesday, April 7th, 4-5pm - Des Moines Art Center Vault Tour

    Join us for a special behind-the-scenes vault tour at the Des Moines Art Center to learn about quality archival materials, proper storage, and conservation practices. The tour includes insights from professionals in installations, crate-building, and works-on-paper care.

  • Tuesday, April 21st, 4-5pm - Olson-Larsen Gallery

    Join us for a tenant outing to Olson-Larsen Galleries to learn how the gallery works with artists, get advice on preparing for gallery representation, and explore their in-house frame shop. Mainframe artists will receive a 20% framing discount, with wholesale pricing available for bulk orders.

  • Tuesday, June 2nd, 4-5pm - Liz Lidgett Gallery

    Join us for a casual tour and conversation at Liz Lidgett Gallery to explore their beautiful new space and learn more about their business, services, and Insider Program. The visit will also include an open discussion and practical advice for artists at different stages of their careers. (This will take place ahead of Art on the Avenues event mid-June)

  • Thursday, June 18th, 4-5pm - Des Moines Art Center Guided Museum Tour

    Join us for a guided tour of the Des Moines Art Center where you’ll explore an inspiring collection of modern and contemporary art. Enjoy a closer look at iconic works in their impressive collection and learn about the artists behind them.

  • Thursday, July 9th - Wellabe Private Collection 

    Join us for a guided tour of the private art collection at Wellabe, showcasing modern and contemporary artworks thoughtfully integrated throughout the building. This special visit offers a rare opportunity to view artworks not usually open to the public. 

  • Tuesday, July 28th & Thursday, July 30th, - Principal Financial Private Collection 

    Please join us for a tour of the incredible private art collection at Principal Financial Group, featuring an extensive selection of modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, and site-specific installations. This remarkable corporate collection offers a unique chance to experience significant works not typically accessible to the public.

     

  • Thursday, August 13th, 11am-12pm - Krause Gateway Center Gallery

    Join us for an inspiring tour of the private collection at Krause Gallery and the iconic Krause Gateway Center, designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano. This outing offers a unique look at how a major private collection is displayed and cared for within a landmark contemporary space. Optional lunch at Allora Cafe to follow.

    Join us for a guided tour of the private art collection at Wellabe, showcasing modern and contemporary artworks thoughtfully integrated throughout the building. This special visit offers a rare opportunity to view artworks not usually open to the public. 

  • Saturday, Sept 12th 11-11:45am - Pappajohn Sculpture Park 

    Join us for a guided tour of the iconic John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park. This outdoor experience invites guests to explore a remarkable collection of large-scale sculptures by internationally acclaimed artists set within a vibrant downtown landscape.

    Tenants are welcome to bring a guest for this experience! 

    Option add on: Bring a sketchbook and stick around to sketch the beautiful park.
