Register high school youth to participate in our the Holy Thursday "Seven Churches Visitation" below. Please provide required information and parent/guardian permission, if applicable.
  • Event Details:

What It Is: A trip to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament at 7 different parishes in our area on the evening of Holy Thursday. The purpose of a "Seven Churches Visitation" is to enter more fully into the Easter Triduum through Adoration and meditating on Christ's sacrifice of love.

Origin: This Roman Catholic tradition is believed to have been started in the 16th Century by St. Phillip Neri in Rome. St. Phillip Neri would lead groups of faithful to visit the seven basilicas of Rome on Holy Thursday night as a way of keeping watch with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, and Jesus invited his friends to do on the night before his passion and death.

What Will We Do? Travel to 7 Catholic parishes in the Brighton and Ann Arbor area to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. At each church's Altar of Repose, we will pray and meditate on scripture for approximately 10 minutes, each.

Who Can Attend:  Anyone currently in High School this 25-26 School Year.

Start Time: This event will begin with attending Holy Thursday Mass at St. Patrick at 7:00pm in the Church. Immediately after Mass, we will participate in the Eucharistic Procession to the Parish Life Center, and will depart from outside the Parish Life Center. Depending on the length of Mass, we should be gathering the Parish Life Center between 8:30 and 9:00 PM. This is dependent on the length of Mass that evening.

End Time: With driving and making all of the stops on our route, we anticipate this trip will take 2.5-3 hours to complete. We should end between midnight and 12:30 AM. We will ensure that participants update their parents as we get closer to the end of the trip so that everyone is informed of what time we will getting back to St. Pats.

Chaperones Attending & Driving: Parish Staff Drivers: Samuel Ekblad, Marissa Dawson; Non-Staff Drivers: Javier Tan, Bethan Kimball.
