Award Nominations
Green Umbrella welcomes nominations for awards recognizing individuals, organizations, businesses and communities in the Midwest region that have made outstanding strides in the areas of Impact, Innovation and Leadership. Award winners will be given a complimentary ticket and honored at the Midwest Regional Sustainabily Summit on June 12, 2026.
Nominations are now open and will close April 30, 2026.
IMPACT
The Sustainability IMPACT Award recognizes an organization or business that has demonstrated significant and measurable sustainability impact through an education program, campaign, sustainability plan, or strategy that increases natural resource conservation with/for diverse audiences within its facilities operations, organizational structure, and/or community.
INNOVATION
The Sustainability INNOVATION Award recognizes an organization, business, or community that has created and implemented an innovative program that promotes, practices, and/or encourages sustainability included in but not limited to successful education programs, facilities operations, public campaigns, and inclusive strategies.
LEADERSHIP
The Sustainability LEADERSHIP Award recognizes an individual that has served as a strong and inspiring leader in support of sustainability for their region, staff, students, customers, company, or community.
Award winners will be chosen within each category based on:
- Reach
- The audience the program or project is geared toward (please include how many people and which types of communities or demographics)
- Impact
- In what ways are the people and communities reached impacted in a positive way?
- Is there a measurable improvement in ecological conditions or footprint reduction? (please indicate how that is measured and any short and long term results achieved or projected)
- Uniqueness
