A professor of youth and family ministry at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, his books include “When Church Stops Working” and the six-volume “Ministry in a Secular Age” series. He explores ways for congregations to maintain and build their spiritual vitality even in a climate of religious decline and fragmentation.
