• After a 35 year absence, Houston R/C, Texas' Premier Competitive Flying Scale R/C Club has returned to an 80' wide x 630' long asphalt runway at intersection of Westheimer Parkway @ Barker Cypress Rd. Dick Scobee Memorial R/C Flying Field (29.72648, -95.6913).



    Dick Scobee Memorial R/C Flying Fields, is fulfillment of a dream shared by the late Burt Striegler, and his two flying buddies, Rollie McGinnis, and Carl White.

    This control line, free flight, & radio control sail plane, rotary & fixed wing flying faciliy is the result of 20+ years negotiating with Corps Of Engineers, & EPA as design of what would become the President George H. W. Bush Memorial Park, became a reality.
