    Living Room is located upstairs at 3169 Mount Pleasant Street NW in Mount Pleasant, Washington, D.C. We are a neighborhood space to drop in, hang out, and make art.

    Types of events you can host in our space:

    • Microweddings, commitment ceremonies
    • Memorials & remembrance gatherings
    • Corporate offsites (retreat-style), team reflection or planning sessions
    • Private co-working days
    • Panels/Conversations
    • Book clubs & reading groups
    • Writing circles
    • Artist talks & portfolio reviews
    • Skill-share sessions, creative workshops
    • Poetry readings & storytelling nights
    • Music performances, listening parties & album releases

    Please note: We are not accepting event rental requests for April, but we are accepting them for May onward. It’s recommended to book four weeks in advance, but please reach out to us to see if we can accommodate. The Host is responsible for promoting their own events. If you have any further questions, please submit them with your application (see the form below).

    Once your complete application is submitted, look for an email confirming receipt. The Living Room team will review your application and contact you within 72 hours

  • Set up & Clean up

    The host must be set up and ready 15-20 minutes before the event starts. Please factor this into the time selection below.

    A minimum of 60 minutes is required for the cleanup and reset of the space. A longer setup or cleanup may be required for events with vendors, food/beverage setup, or audio-visual equipment; running long may result in additional rental time being charged to the host.

  • Accommodations

    What Living Room can provide:

    • Electricity: access to electricity with an extension cord
    • Tables: 7
    • Seats: 30
    • Max Occupancy: 30 seated/50 standing

    Promotion: Hosts are responsible for promoting their own event; Living Room makes no guarantees regarding event promotion. When information is provided by the host, booked events will be published to our public website events calendar. Additional promotion may be done through Instagram at the discretion of the Living Room team.

    Note: Hosts are responsible for setting the event layout, and the space must be returned to its original lounge layout during cleanup.

  • Host responsibilities

    The host provides:

    • Additional tables and seating as the space accommodates
    • Audio-visual equipment with necessary extension cords; adapters
    • All food and beverage fixtures, supplies, and setup
    • Any other event-specific equipment needed

    The host is responsible for:

    • Set up prior to the event. Please take note of the space layout so you can put it back the way you found it.
    • Clean up after event. Hosts are responsible for returning the space to its original layout. Failure to do so may result in additional rental charges.

    Food/Beverage & Waste Policy

    You're welcome to have your guests bring their own snacks + drinks, provide your own, or have your own food/beverage vendor provide for you. Hosts are responsible for:

    • Providing all cups, dishes, cutlery, and sanitary essentials
    • Coordinating with food + beverage vendors
    • Adhering to local guidelines on alcohol sales and distribution
    • Removing all trash and recycling created by the event from the premises.
    • Improperly discarding waste will result in additional rental charges.
    • Hosts are responsible for cleaning any major spills. Failure to clean major spills will result in additional rental charges
