Course Description:  Renew your camping certification or transfer skills from another council. Review and update outdoor skills, with a focus on topics related to safety and care of GSK equipment and properties. You will hear about updates from GSUSA and GSK policies and practices regarding group camping, hiking, cooking, and other common outdoor practices, as well as any GSK property updates.

Outdoor Update renews outdoor authorization for Indoor Camping (formerly Camp In B) and Outdoor Camping (formerly Camp Out) -- whichever you last completed.  It does not renew Wilderness Travel.

Prerequisites:  You must have taken GSK's Outdoor Basics and Indoor Camping (formerly Camp In A and B) or Outdoor Camping (formerly Camp Out) class previously, or you are transferring from another Girl Scout Council and have approval from GSK staff to take this class to bring you up to date on GSK's properties, camping practices, and polices.

Resources and Videos: For this virtual class, we will also send you a link to the most recent copies of GSK outdoor resources to replace whatever resource materials you may have received years ago. The link to these resources and a link to the zoom session will be in the auto-generated email you will get from Jotform when you submit your registration.

Please note that you will be expected to watch some videos on your own in addition to participating in this zoom session. Video links are in the resource materials you will be sent.
