About Olean Kennel Club

Founded in 1923, the Olean Kennel Club is an AKC all-breed club dedicated to strengthening the bond between dogs and their people through training, education, and sport. We’re a welcoming community of dog lovers who believe life is better with dogs and that positive training builds confident, successful teams.

From puppy basics to agility, rally, scent work, trick training, and more, OKC offers small, member-led classes open to all dogs—purebred or mixed breed. We also host AKC events and trials throughout the year, creating opportunities for learning, fun, and achievement.

Whether you’re a first-time puppy owner or experienced competitor, you’ll find encouragement, friendship, and your pack at OKC. Guests are always welcome at our monthly meetings—come see what we’re all about!

Ready to join a community of dog enthusiasts? Here's How it Works:
- Complete the Membership Application below.
- Our membership secretary will receive your application and reach out to welcome you, answer any questions, and provide details about our upcoming meetings.
- Attend TWO (2) meetings. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.
- Your membership application will be read aloud at your first meeting. This is your "first reading". This meeting also serves as an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to our membership and ask any questions you may have.
- At the second meeting you attend, your application is read aloud again (your "second reading"), and your request to join the club is put to a vote.
- If you are voted into the club, your dues must be paid at this time. Our membership secretary will help facilitate this process.
Membership Types

You will pay your dues once you are voted in as a member.
- Individual – Dues $25 / yr: Open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with the AKC and who subscribe to the purposes of this club. Only "active members in good standing" shall be allowed to vote and hold office.
- Junior – Dues $10/ yr: Open to all people between the ages of nine (9) to eighteen (18) years of age who otherwise meet the requirements for active membership. May not vote or hold office and do not have building use privileges.
- Senior – Dues $10 / yr – Open to all persons over 60 years of age who otherwise meet the requirements for active membership.
- Associate – Dues $15 / yr: Open to all individuals eighteen (18) years and older. May not vote in elections or hold office, and do not have building use privileges.
- Family – Dues $30/ yr - Open to all persons eighteen (18) and older and their children who reside together in the same household (maximum of 2 adults). A family membership shall have a maximum of two (2) votes, and the adults may hold office, provided the adult members are "members in good standing".

Liability Release

The applicant(s) herein hereby, for myself/ourselves, and for my/our heirs, executors and administrators, waive and relinquish any and all claims for damages and or injury I/we have, against any participant or individual associated with the Olean Kennel Club, classes, or any of their representatives, successors, or assigns, and I/we indemnify and save and hold them harmless for any and all losses, damages, injuries or illnesses suffered, or alleged to be suffered, by the participant or participants named below in connection with said courses or individual member’s building use. Instructors holding classes at the Olean Kennel Club are independent contractors, and neither the Olean Kennel Club, nor any instructor or assistant makes any warranty or guarantee related to any class/seminar outcome. Instructors may require additional waivers and releases prior to enrollment. No refunds for classes. Any dog displaying aggressive behavior will be removed and barred from the facility.
Photography Release

The applicant(s) herein hereby grant to the Olean Kennel Club the absolute and irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to use, publish, and distribute photographs taken of me/us and or my dog(s) during OKC events or while using OKC facilities for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content. I/We waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product, including any written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness or my dog's likeness appears. I/We waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photographs.
Member Dues

I understand that if I am voted into the club, my membership dues will be payable at that time. I reserve the right to decline membership if accepted, and I acknowledge that my application may also be declined.I understand that dues are non-refundable once paid. Membership dues are assessed annually each January and are not prorated. However, members who are voted in between October and December will have their dues waived for the following year.I understand that if I am voted into the club, my dues will be due at that time.
