2026 Ella Beatrice Ferguson Moore Memorial Book Scholarship Application

Pearls of Service Incorporated® in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®, Eta Alpha Omega Chapter of Rock Hill, SC, awards annually the Ella Beatrice Ferguson Moore Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship may go toward studies at an accredited two-year (including technical school, junior college, or community college) or four-year college or university. Pearls of Service Incorporated® and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®, supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and their contributions to the sorority and society. The Ella Beatrice Ferguson Moore Memorial Scholarship Committee will recognize fifteen students which includes two HBCU scholarships. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 Book Award, which is non-renewable. All awards will be paid directly to the institution.

Eligibility and Requirements:
Student must be:

A resident of York or Chester counties, South Carolina or a participant in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® - Eta Alpha Omega Chapter 2026 Debutante Cotillion.

An African American female or male high school senior, with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale.

Must have a letter of acceptance from a two or four-year college or university before the check will be disbursed.

Two Recommendation Forms: one from a teacher and one from someone other than a relative (for example: an advisor, minister, GirlBoy Scout leader, community service leader or school official, etc.).

An official high school transcript.

One page typed essay.

If the above criteria are not met, the student’s application will not be considered
Scholarship Guidelines
The Scholarship Application Packet must include the above listed items and must be received by no later than March 31st, 2026.

a) Student must enroll as a full-time student at an accredited college or university during the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded.

b) If a student fails to enroll in an accredited college or university during the year in which the scholarship is awarded, he or she will forfeit the scholarship.

c) Selected scholarship recipients will be notified no later than May 2026, via the email or phone call from the information provided on the scholarship application.

d) The scholarship recipients will be recognized by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Eta Alpha Omega Chapter.
